Prakash Jha’s next Pariksha will release on THIS date! The coronavirus pandemic has made the world come to a stand still. With theatres opening no time soon, many of the film makers are opting the digital route and releasing their films on different OTT platforms. With Dil Bechara recently releasing on Disney + Hotstar, there are a bunch of other film including Vidya Balan’s Shakuntala Devi that are now releasing on Amazon Prime Video. A national award winning filmmaker Prakash Jha has also now decided to release his upcoming film Pariksha on an OTT platform. Yess! The film will be releasing on Zee5 as an original on 6th August 2020. Zee 5 recently dropped the trailer of the film on their YouTube channel.

Film stars Adil Hussain as the father who is an auto driver, Priyanka Bose as the mother and Sanjay Suri as an inspector. The trailer starts with the Adil Hussain looking at the corridors of what look like a giant school with his son answering all the questions asked by his master in the background. It is soon Adil realizes that his son portrayed by Shourya Deep is a genius and hence is keen on providing him education from a private English medium school.
Being from a lower middle-class family, the financial struggle that the family goes through is very specifically shown in the trailer. There is a scene where they are talking about how much money is needed and the mother says we are short of 3000 RS in spite of selling everything is heart-wrenching.
From montages playing of Adil Hussain struggling hard with his auto to earn as much money as he can, from Priyanka Bose who is playing the mother selling off the utensils and from the son Gaurav Bhatia played by Shourya Deep requesting the principle to let him sit in the examinations, the trailer keeps you hooked and curious as to what is going to happen next. The film was premiered on the 50th International Film Festival of India in the Indian Panorama section in 2019. It was suppose to have a theatrical release but due to the COVID – 19 pandemic it will be releasing on Zee5 on 6th August. The film marks Prakash Jha’s maiden collaboration with the digital OTT platform
