Did You Know Farhan Akhtar Was Not The First Choice For Bhaag Milkha Bhaag?
Actor Farhan Akhtar who played the character of Milkha Singh in the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, was not the first choice of the director.
The 2013 biographical drama Bhaag Milkha Bhaag starring Farhan Akhtar which was one of the biggest hits of the year, marks 7 years in just a few days. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra on the occasion opened up about his first choice. And surprisingly it is not Farhan Akhtar. Yes! You heard that right.
The director told the Daily; “For the longest time, I felt that Akshay was correct for my role. But during my initial interaction with Farhan, I realised that he was the best man. I discovered that he has the same determination and grit as me. Now, I can confidently say Farhan is the best choice.” He further added, “He is exactly how I wanted to see myself on screen. He has replicated me on screen. He even resembles me.” Well, we certainly agree with legendary Milkha Singh and can definitely say that no one could have played the role of former sprinter better than Farhan Akhtar.”
And after 7 years, the director and the actor duo are back with yet another film. Titled as Toofan, Farhan Akhtar playing the character of a boxer also has veteran actor Paresh Rawal and Mrunal Thakur in pivotal roles. Paresh Rawal will be seen playing the character of Farhan’s coach. The film is written by Anjum Rajabali and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. However, due to the pandemic, the film, which was initially set to release on 18th September in theatres now has been pushed October.
The director took to social media to announce the new date of his upcoming film. Toofan will now be out on 2nd October on Gandhi Jayanti. Are you excited for the film?
